MS 4R2S is a qualification and standardization of automotive parts and components to enhance and standardize the Reuse, Recycle, Remanufacturing, Repair, Services and Spare part sectors of the automotive industry.

One of its main objectives is to guide the automotive industry towards achieving optimum standard for product and process quality, consumer safety and protection, environment safeguarding and business sustainment, which leads to greater flexibility and adaptability for the automotive industry stakeholders to implement, manage and enhance economic sustainment, as well as providing a potentially higher compliance with lower administrative costs.

MS 4R2S was also formulated to facilitate the implementation of two roadmaps that were structured under the National Automotive Policy (NAP):


  1. Authorized Treatment Facilities Roadmap (ATFR)

    • Serves as a guideline to transform automotive aftermarket businesses, on par with best global practices and standards.

      Malaysia Automotive Remanufacturing Roadmap (MARR)

  • Details the criteria for remanufacturing standards and best practices to be adopted by automotive players, with the aim of making Malaysia the center of automotive remanufacturing in the ASEAN region.


In order to maximize the standardization of MS 4R2S across the entire automotive ecosystem in Malaysia, Malaysia Automotive, Robotics and IoT Institute (MARii) are welcoming various institutions and organizations to be part of its MS 4R2S Certification Body (CB).

MS 4R2S Selection Criteria

Under the MS 4R2S standard, CBs that are recognized by MARii can certify automotive companies that has met all the requirements listed. However, MARii will incorporate its logo on the MS 4R2S Certificate.
